Outreach To Appalachia

Poverty in the Appalachias is beyond some of the worst in the United States. The people have been faced with extreme hardship. Children go without food and clothing, the elderly are having to make choices between food, housing and needed medications.

Outreach To Applalachia is a Ravelry group formed to help several organizations with the collection of handmade items. This group accepts just about any items you can hand-make, so let your creativity run wild!!

Easy care items are always appreciated. Machine washable and dry-able fibers are most welcomed. Items can be made of soft acrylic, washable wool, washable wool blends, cotton, or any easy care fiber.

A simple paper tag tied or pinned to each item with fiber and care instructions will be very helpful. You can also add size information if applicable.
